Following the announcement, United fans flocked to social media to criticize Rangnick’s time at the club.

A third fan also wrote: “Up there with one of the worst decisions the club has ever made hiring him in the first place.”
Meanwhile, one more supporter tweeted: “This club is an embarrassment. 6 months wasted.”
An official statement from Manchester United announcing Rangnick’s departure said:
“We would like to thank Ralf Rangnick for his efforts as interim manager over the past six months.
“By mutual agreement, Ralf will now focus solely on his new role as manager of the Austria national team and will not, therefore, be taking up a consultancy role at Old Trafford.
“We would like to wish Ralf the best of luck in this next chapter of his career.”
