Top 11 Strikers Who Could Seal Deal This Summer Transfer
As the summer transfer window is approaching here are the Top strikers who could move to another team.
Borussia Dortmund’s star man is on the wish list of every top club across Europe following his lethal displays in the Bundesliga.
And with his £65million release clause not due to come into play next year.
Potential suitors are already preparing to jump the gun and splash out to land his signature this summer.
With the future of Kylian Mbappe also up in the air, there is a sense of desperation from Europe’s elite in the battle to sign either of world football’s biggest talents.
But they’re not the only No.9’s on the market attracting interest with clubs bracing themselves to miss out on the game’s leading duo.
Here are 8 strikers who could be on the move in the coming months.
He may be into his twilight years, but Serie A’s leading goalscorer still knows where the net is and has plenty still to offer at the top level.
Juventus are restricted by Ronaldo’s extortionate wages and would rather offload him this summer for a fee than lose him for nothing.
Meanwhile Real Madrid are keen on sealing the forward’s return in the summer if the figures work out.
Zinedine Zidane admitted it “may be true” that Ronaldo could be heading back to the Bernabeu in the future.
Crucially Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola has frequently talked up a move to Juventus, and Ronaldo’s departure could help speed up that move if a space opens up in their squad.
Madrid will no doubt want to keep themselves in mind for both Haaland and Mbappe in 2022, but Ronaldo could be a short-term solution.
Man City’s record goalscorer looks to be in his final days at the Etihad as his contract winds down.
The Argentine turns 33 in June and is struggling to hold down a regular berth at City, with his departure in the summer now expected.
But Aguero will have no shortage of offers considering he will be available on a free, with speculation linking him with a switch to Barcelona.
Given some of the astronimical fees being touted elsewhere, he could be the bargain of the window.
In pre-Covid times Tottenham’s talisman would have been hot property this summer with his side struggling to ensure qualification to the Champions League next season.
Kane first teased a move away last March when he suggested he would not stay at Spurs “for the sake of it” if they could not match his ambition.
At 28 and still in search of his first major trophy, time is running out for the England captain to land some silverware.
However, he seems tied to Tottenham for the foreseeable future on a contract which doesn’t expire until 2024.
Only a huge bid will entice Daniel Levy to the negotiating table, but there aren’t many clubs who could justify that sort of expenditure on a player whose peak years are numbered.
That said, Kane has plenty of admirers – one of whom is now in charge at cash-rich PSG – and he could well force Tottenham’s hand if he is willing to push his way out of the club.
Whether Man Utd were planning on signing another striker so soon is unclear.
But their stop-gap acquisition of Cavani appears it could be nothing more than a brief fling.
The Uruguayan is reportedly unhappy in England, according to his father, and is eyeing a return to South America quicker than originally planned.
Boca Juniors are interested and the culmination of Cavani’s one-year deal at Old Trafford would free him up to make the move.
United are keen to exercise the one-year extension in Cavani’s deal, but if he departs there will be a void to be filled.
While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has played down suggestions of any big-money signings in the off-season, with the likes of Kane and Haaland on the market, he may feel its better to act sooner, rather than later.
A striker reborn since leaving Man Utd, Lukaku has been banging in goals for fun in Italy and looks every inch the world class striker he has always threatened to be.
It seems crazy to think he is still only 27, and has a chance to showcase his talents further in this summers Euros, with Belgium among the favourites.
He seems happy under Antonio Conte at Inter Milan but recent reports claim Man City have a ‘genuine interest’ in snapping him up as a possible replacement for Aguero.
The opportunity to return to the Premier League would no doubt appeal, particularly with a side guaranteed to bring him trophies.
And to do so for his former club’s rivals would make it all the sweeter.
In a shock transfer twist Man City boss Pep Guardiola is also weighing up a move for Southampton frontman Danny Ings.
With Aguero set to move on and City already low on strikers, Ings would represent an affordable option to tie things over until the likes of Haaland and Mbappe are closer to the exit door at their respective clubs.
City are almost certain to be in the picture for Haaland and Guardiola has done well without a No.9 in a number of fixtures this season, making another campaign of making do hardly a problem.
Ings is involved in his own contract standoff with Southampton which could persuade them to cash-in on the 28-year-old.
After his frustrating stint at Liverpool, would he want to play second fiddle at a big club again?
Following in Haaland’s footsteps, the man now supplying the goals at Red Bull Salzburg may be on the verge of taking the next step on the football ladder himself.
Daka, 22, has been in prolific form for the Austrian club, netting 27 times already this season.
Naturally that has caught the attentions of top clubs, with Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City and Arsenal all said to be keeping tabs on his progress.
The Zambian is valued at around £25million, making him one of the steals of the summer should any clubs take the plunge.
He was also quick to mention his lifelong support of Liverpool, who hold strong likes with Salzburg from their negotiations for Takumi Minamino.
The jewel in the crown and the man capable of turning the whole transfer market upside down should he wish.
Fast forward seven months and tensions have eased considerably at the Nou Camp, with the cloud slowly lifting over the club.
Any notions of Messi moving on in the summer now appear to be dwindling with every passing day.
while the likes of PSG and Man City have cast their eyes on other targets.
It would now be a surprise if Messi were not to line up in Barca’s colours next season.
Then again, don’t rule it out.
