Manchester United and Premier League rivals Liverpool have ‘met’ with the representatives of Benfica striker Darwin Nunez, according to a report by FootballTransfers
The 22-year-old is attracting a wealth of interest from across Europe ahead of the transfer window opening on June 10.
Nunez was the highest goalscorer in the Portuguese league with 26 goals and scored 6 goals in the Champions League including 2 against Liverpool.
TalkSPORT has also confirmed Manchester United’s move for Nunez and claims Benfica has slapped a £68million price tag on Nunez
The 22-year-old is said to be keen to become part of new United manager Erik ten Hag’s Old Trafford revolution even though he would prefer to play Champions League football.
Meanwhile, transfer expert Dean Jones believes Nunez would be an “amazing signing” for Manchester United this summer.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the transfer insider said: “I think Darwin Nunez would be an amazing signing.
“It would signal where the club intends to go. They need somebody who’s young and hungry.
“You can imagine him and Ronaldo in tandem, whether it was together, whether it was in rotation, whether it was spurring each other on.”
