Lampard criticizes Rashford over failed England penalty
Former Chelsea coach Frank Lampard criticizes England and Manchester united forwarder Rashford.
Despite making effort to score a goal during Euro 2020 final against Italy the talented forward fells out.
However, Marcus Rashford broke Lampard’s heart after he failed to score a penalty short out against Italy.
Italy beat England to lift the European Competition trophy for 2020 in a 3-2 penalty shot out.
“I’ve never taken a penalty with that style. I always consider there’s a penalty [style] for me and many takers take them very well,” Lampard told the BBC.
“But in the training ground behind closed doors, that shuffle and wait [which Rashford used] is much easier.
“With the pressure of what this game brings, it’s harder.”
But Lampard was not buying the criticism of Raheem Sterling, who did not take one of the five penalties.
“I’m not sure Raheem is absolutely a penalty taker at heart,” Lampard added.
“And I think you have to give credit as much to say, ‘I’m not feeling it, for whatever reason.
“You can’t over-analyze this now, it’s a horrible moment.”
