‘I blame myself working with Mourinho’ player revealed
Dele Alli holds some positive feel after working with Mourinho at Tottenham Spur last season.
The England player found himself struggling in Spurs to make Mourinho’s first-team set up during his time.
However, he made more of his appearance coming in from the FA Cup and Europa League than the Premier League.
Mourinho was not too impressed with Alli’s ability at the training ground during his Tottenham tenure.
The only person I blame is myself,’ he said to Goal.
‘I should be performing at a level where it is difficult to not put me in the team or not play me.
‘I don’t blame anyone but myself. Working with Mourinho was a great experience and one I learned a lot from.‘
Meanwhile, Tottenham has appointed former Wolves coach Nuno Espirito Santo and Ali could make a fresh start.
A few days back Alli shared pictures of himself training alone at a venue called ‘The Campus’
in Portugal and is relishing the upcoming campaign.
‘He (Nuno) has done a great job at Wolves,’ Alli said.
‘I am looking forward to speaking to him and working with him.
He is a great manager and it is an exciting time.
‘I want to make this year one of the best I have had. A lot of people have said I need to find the form I was in a few years ago.
For me, I don’t even want to get to that, I want to go past that and reach my full potential to be the best player I can be.’
