Breaking: Manchester United star quits pre-season tour

Manchester United defender has left the preseason tour camp after the Liverpool match

According to reports, center-back Axel Tuanzebe has been forced to leave Manchester United’s pre-season tour due to a “personal issue”.

The 24-year-old center-back, who spent last season on loan at Aston Villa and Napoli

Moreover, it was part of the pre-season tour of Thailand but didn’t feature in yesterday’s 4-0 victory over Liverpool in Bangkok.

According to Samuel Lockhurst of Manchester Evening News, Tuanzebe didn’t join the squad to Australia and had instead returned home to deal with a “small personal issue”.

In Tuanzebe’s place, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has decided to call up 19-year-old center-back WIll Fish, who will join the squad in Australia.

Tuanzebe hasn’t featured for the Red Devils’ first team since the 2021 Europa League final.

Ten Hag opted to start Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof at the back against Liverpool yesterday.

Eric Bailly replaced Varane in the second half while Alex Telles replaced Lindelof.

Could Ten Hag’s decision to use Telles at center-back instead of Tuanzebe be the reason why the center-back has left the tour?

Manchester United faces Australian side Melbourne Victory on Friday, before taking on Premier League side Crystal Palace in the same location on Tuesday.

The Red Devils will then conclude our tour of Australia with a match against Premier League side Aston Villa in Perth on July 23.
