Barcelona agreed on €60m plus player in attempt to sign France player

Barcelona has reportedly agreed to cash in the player plus £60million in an attempt to sign a vital France player for this summer

However, Barcelona manager Xavi is keen to bring the 23-year-old defender to Camp Nou

Xavi believes having Ronald Araujo and the France defender will be a huge defensive boost for Barcelona next season

The club suffered a lot of sets back last season, following the injury of club legend Gerard Pique dealing with injuries

As such, it is barely a surprise to see Barcelona chasing to sign a center-back this summer.

The leading candidate for that place? Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.

The Frenchman has a fair bit of fan following in football right now, with Chelsea leading the race for his signature.

However, reports from Gerard Romero suggest that Barcelona are ready to submit their first bid as well, in the form of €60 million-plus a player.

Three players have been linked with a move to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan: Sergio DestFrancisco Trincao, and Clement Lenglet.

After the departure of Dani Alves, Sergino Dest’s starting spot at right-back remains largely uncontested.

The club has renewed Sergi Roberto for a year, and is confident about signing Cesar Azpilicueta, but both of those players happen to be on the wrong side of 30 right now.

For Sevilla, though, Dest could prove to be an excellent addition. They are looking for players to replace captain Jesus Navas, and provide competition for Gonzalo Montiel. The American fits the bill and could take off €15-20 million from Kounde’s asking price.

Trincao does not seem to have a place at Barcelona, despite Ousmane Dembele’s possible exit. He has an interest in Portugal and Spain, and could certainly be of aid to Sevilla.
